Greater Gulf State Fair

The Fair isn't that far off, I thought I would share a few from last year to get everyone in the mood.

As a photographer there's more to shoot than just the rides; although you can get some pretty interesting shots with long exposures.  I find the people just as interesting as the rides.

Laurel

I was invited by a photographer friend to come along and do a photo shoot she was doing of her niece, Laurel.  I agreed to the invitation because it would give me an opportunity to practice my portrait photography skills.

Laurel was a natural in front of the camera, course it doesn't hurt that her aunt is a photographer. I had a good time doing the shoot and here are a few shots from that day.

The Girls

I don't often do portraits but I had the opportunity to photograph three beautiful girls.  They are the daughters of a close friend of mine and she ask if I would take their photos which I gladly did and I'm looking forward to another session with them.

These were taken on a beautiful sunny weekend morning in the park near USA Children's and Women's Hospital.

These lovely ladies had a natural talent for posing and came up with their own poses for the shoot.  I found it was a lot easier to let them do it on their own rather than try to pose them myself with just some simple directions.

Vincent

This is a photo of a long time friend of mine, Vincent Lawson, who happens to be a great photographer and instructor.  He specializes in Street Photography but has a great eye and talent for photography of any kind.  You can see more of his work at Vincent's Photographs

I took this photo of him on one of our many photography outings.
